The Epiphany of the Magi

e-Tinkerbell

eve1

eve5I guess everybody is familiar with the story of the three Wise Men who had ventured to visit the baby Jesus in Bethlehem. After a long, tiring journey, the Magi seemed to have lost their way, but thanks to the help of the comet star that had lighted up and pointed them the right direction, they eventually succeeded in reaching their destination. At the end of that journey they were recompensed by the sight of the physical manifestation of the son of God on earth: Jesus. This event is called Epiphany (from the ancient Greek ἐπιφάνεια, epiphaneia: manifestation, striking appearance), that is, a moment of a sudden revelation.

eve4Actually this narration may have another symbolical interpretation, as the journey of the Magi may also represent the crisis of the modern age, where men, as modern Magi, seem to have lost many of their certainties and desperately need a focus, represented by the divine illumination of the comet, to direct them to that truth they need to give meaning to…

Decaying Glamour (poem)

The Tropical Flowering Zone

Decaying Clamour

DECAYING GLAMOUR

I buried the alchemist
and resurrected
Synthetic armour,
To hold me in place,
And withstand
Decaying glamour
To lean on crutches
Resistant to decay
From industry clamour…

But currents swept
The remaining comatose
Which on the floor slept
A dream of resurrection
From a harvest bet
And monsoon rains lashing
At bell buoys and tidal swells
Which deafened eardrums,
With marine songs
All heading west.

It Pays To Walk In Love Today

Earthpages.org

By Ngozi Nwoke

Is it worth walking in love? Some people think that walking in love is weakness and that they will get nothing in return for all their efforts. However, the truth is that those who enjoy the most are those who are walking in Love. This is because God’s attention is drawn to those who obey His commandments; and one of His commandments is that we walk in love – 1 John 4:21.

But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ – 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister – Hebrews 6:10 (NKJV)

Boko Haram changes name to Islamic State’s West African Province

Follow The Money

http://rt.com/news/253541-boko-haram-isis-name/

Boko Haram’s commitment to the jihadi group the Islamic State, has just become even more pronounced, after the Nigerian terrorist organization changed its name to ISWAP or Islamic State’s West Africa Province.

The move appears to give the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) a foothold outside of the Middle East and North Africa for the first time, as the terrorist organization tries to create a global caliphate.

Links between the two militant Islamist organizations have grown over the last year. A recent video released by IS sang the praises of Boko Haram fighters, while the Nigeria-based militant group also released a propaganda video, via IS’s social media channels.

The accounts dropped the name Boko Haram, as well as its official title, Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad, Arabic…

Girls rescued in Nigeria from Boko Haram stronghold need psychological care

Global News

LAGOS, Nigeria – Some of the nearly 300 girls and women freed by Nigeria’s military from the forest stronghold of Boko Haram were so transformed by their captivity that they opened fire on their rescuers, and experts said Wednesday they would need intensive psychological treatment.

The military was flying in medical and intelligence teams to evaluate the former captives, many of whom were severely traumatized, said army spokesman Col. Sani Usman.

He said earlier that none of the schoolgirls kidnapped from the northeastern town of Chibok a year ago appeared to be among the 200 girls and 93 women rescued Tuesday. But on Wednesday he said further screening was needed before their identities could be determined.

He was one of the main figures of outlaw country, a sub genre of country music that developed in the late 1960s as a reaction to the conservative restrictions of the Nashville sound. Letting Go and Watching Growth

mother of nine9

089 Spring has finally come this week,

Without any help from me.

Flowers are blooming

pushing through dead leaves and untilled soil

Even more surprising,

all sorts of breakthroughs are happening

in my adult kid’s lives

simply because I let go of control

prayed, trusted in God and

allowed natural growth and development to progress

without my meddling

…too much! Let’s say I facilitated, then stepped back.
