Comedian Amy Schumer and U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer are teaming up to call for stricter gun laws, appearing together on Sunday in New York to push for expanded gun control legislation.

The Schumers, who are cousins, first announced their collaboration earlier this year after a deadly shooting in a Louisiana theater, where Amy’s movie Trainwreck was being screened.

“I don’t know why he picked my movie but … it’s something that I live with every day and I vowed to…

THE BLACK BEAR MASSACRE OF 2015

Libra Lionheart

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, and less than three years after being delisted as a threatened species, the Florida black bear will once again be fighting for his life; and perhaps a survival of the species. This will be the first legal hunt of the black bear since 1994, when the Commission of Game & Fresh Water Fish (GFC) closed all remaining areas for bear hunting. And at that point in time there were approximately 1,250 black bears remaining in the state.

Thanks in part to this hunting ban and other conservation efforts, the population has recovered to over 3,000 bears in six core areas (Eglin, Apalachicola, Osceola, St. Johns and Big Cypress) and two remnant areas (Chassahowitzka and Glades / Highlands). And while recovery rate of this magnitude should be perceived as a great victory for the black bear, the decision by the Florida…

Facebook has locked out Native Americans after deeming their names fake

Let Our Voices Echo

Lady2Soothe

Rudy TwoMoonYesterday my son Rudy TwoMoon was kicked off Facebook for using his LEGAL Native American name.

Yes some of his articles have been reinstated but not all but only after having to submit to verifying his LEGAL State Driver’s License. Wondering when his wife, my daughter-in-law Dr. Julie TwoMoon and his son whose last name is also TwoMoon will have to provide their identification… and the TwoMoon’s aren’t the only ones.

Facebook has locked out Native Americans from using the social network after deeming their names to be fake.

Users from indigenous tribes have received messages asking them to change their legal names to ones that do not “violate the company’s standards”.

A woman called Lone Hill, whose first name is Dana, had sent three forms of identification to Facebook so the company could “investigate” whether she was a real person, according to a report by Colorline.

In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month which began Sept. 15th and runs through Oct. 15th I’d like to honor Latina artist, political activist, author and true unconventional nonconformist Frida Kahlo (July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954). Frida is the epitome of intersectionality. Born of mixed heritage (father Hungarian/German – mother Spanish/Mestizo) she was best known for her series of 55 self-portraits, as she put it “I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best” produced 200 paintings, numerous drawings and vibrant surrealist renderings heavily enveloped in symbolic representations of physical and psychological wounds rooted in the suffering of more than 30 surgeries. “I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality.”

Way ahead of her time Frida has been described as: “…one of history’s grand divas…a tequila-slamming, dirty joke-telling smoker, bi-sexual that hobbled about her bohemian…

When 8-year-old Alex appeared on “The Oprah Winfery Show” in 2004, she told Oprah how she made her lemonade. “I use Country Time Lemonade”

Country Time lemonade flavor drink mix is a Kraft product. Kraft split itself off into two companies Mondelez International as a marketing strategy by combining the words “world” and “delicious”. Kraft decided the grocery business would retain the Kraft name, Mondelez International manages snack brands. Kraft and Mondelez International are owned by ConAgra.

Circular reasoning: The Company who gives people cancer are profiting off the people with cancer by selling to the people who will get cancer from consuming their cancer causing products.

ConAgra, one of the largest processed food manufacturers in the…

Down

realtalented

Let me wipe u down

baby girl you’re so wet

I’m going to pipe u down

some of my best work yet

told her to bite down

as I go south to her thirst net

she c**, we come down

even though we just met

over and over from sun up to sun down

until I give her flashbacks like a war vet

she starts breaking down

it was all that lying I bet

telling me she needs to lie down

and all I can do is sweat

thinking that her wrath was about to fall down

I was deep in a sea of regret

I did what I did, so just before I bow down

she said these are shaky waters, u don’t have your feet set

I’m thinking, who she about to call down

but say something stupid like, how deep those waters really get

she laughs, as…
